Yarnworks
Built in 1905, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, YarnWorks is the former home of the Fitchburg Yarn Company. It was transformed into 96 units of mixed-income housing for WinnCompanies, a nationally recognized owner, developer and manager of multifamily communities. Universal provided over 700 windows from their trademark 400 Double Hung Fixed Series and the 700 Awning Fixed Series to provide abundant natural light to the building, as well as helping the project to qualify for the necessary federal and state historic tax credits.
